Once upon a time, many moons ago in 1964, a wonderful story began that would bring together Disney and UNICEF for the “Princess and Designers” operation
In 1964, at the World Exhibition in New York, a partnership was born that would stand the tests of time better than any love story. Never even a hint of divorce on the horizon! And thousands of children and families have been supported and helped! At the time, the Disney “imagineers”, as Disney calls its imagination engineers, had created four attractions especially for the exhibition! One of these attractions quickly became the must-have for all Disney Parks around the world. Can you guess which one? “It’s a small world”!! Yes, this attraction with its catchy tune was originally designed for the World Exhibition. And it was such a success that… well… you know the rest of the story!
But what about this connection with UNICEF? Elementary my dear Watson! At the exhibition, the star attraction (declared “a must-see” by visitors) was dedicated in its entirety to UNICEF… And for 40 years this relationship has not changed. Isn’t that a lovely story? I told you you’d like it…
