Once upon a time, many moons ago in 1964, a wonderful story began that would bring together Disney and UNICEF for the “Princess and Designers” operation

…such lovely little dolls!
21st November was the Atelier Frimousse (Dolls’ workshop) in Disneyland.
These dolls, called Frimousses (which means “sweet little face” in French), are unique rag dolls, each one with its very own identity card. They are sold for a minimum of 20 euros (donors can offer as much as they like) and the money goes to UNICEF.
The money is then transformed into vaccinations against fatal illnesses (tetanus, measles, diphtheria, polio, tuberculosis, whooping cough) in third world countries.
On this day, Disneyland, which also let Cast members make a Frimousse doll for UNICEF, decided to help several groups of children make their own Frimousse doll!
Children of the Secours Populaire association, in addition to doing a good deed, had a wonderful day, finishing with a visit of the park and the famous Disney Once Upon a Dream Parade!

Hello ! My name is Dee Dee. I’m part of the big family of “Frimousses de Créateurs“, which were displayed at the Petit Palais in Paris several days ago. My objective, like that of all those in my tribe, is to be sold for the highest price possible on 29 November at Drouot, with proceeds going to UNICEF.

You weren’t sure how to ask me, you were afraid I’d guess. You’re really too kind. It’s true it’s nearly Christmas, but it’s such a lovely gift !
But then, if you really insist, go ahead and buy me a designer princess dress
As for which one, because I like to be of service, I more or less stole (only to help you
the exhibition catalogue! Now that’s something, don’t you think?
And it’s only because it’s for a good cause, and that UNICEF is a great association, that I accept this generous gift!

I’ve already told you a bit about this. If you remember, this great event is being organised by Disneyland Resort Paris for the benefit of Unicef…Don’t worry, I’ll jolt your memory by the end of these few lines. In any case, get ready, because it’s majorly important.
Thanks to the generosity of designers and the initiative of Disney, on 19th November, an auction will take place at Christie’s in Paris (9 avenue Matignon, 8th district), under the hammer of Lionel Gosset.
